50) The Undefeated
Since some time now she has a tenant new,
In the past was just a visitor, now has taken a permanent room,
Needs no permissions, walks around free,
Epasses required only for humans, you see.
She doesn't know really where all the feelings reside,
But this tenant has torn her apart from inside,
No longer a stranger, he now has a name,
"Fear" he is called, has quite a negative fame.
Both hope & happiness fled that day,
When this new tenant forced his stay,
Sadness and anger cower down in depths,
Overpowered by feelings of dread.
And from then began the darkest phase,
Since when just mechanically dragged all days,
Indifference, apathy, hopelessness are all that's left,
Almost as though all feelings are in a vegetative state.
It's not just her, but many that are in a similar plight,
Active on the face, but practically dead inside,
Mind numb, not an emotion in the heart,
Just that fear their world around was falling apart.
Who knows now whether this a temporary flow,
Or if this is the new face of the world as we know,
Where each day we try to create hope to defeat fear,
While dreading that maybe doomsday is near.
