28) An Ode to Mother Nature

Why did you let this disaster occur? Why do you let so many innocents suffer? Why played you this twist of fate so cruel? Why have you imposed on them a fight for survival? Mother Nature you are called with respect and love, And love & blessings on the Earthlings you bestow, In your lap the wounded souls solace find, In your presence their sorrows they leave behind. As your children we look to you with hope, To care for us and give us strength to cope, To share our joys and wipe our tears, To cuddle us and banish away our fears. Generally you manage it all so well, Magically of almost every soul you take care, Love us, nourish us, help us live and evolve, Forgive us with a big heart for our mistakes all. Again as a mother would you chid us sometimes, Rightfully punish us for our careless crimes, Once in a while you show us your furious face, But then also ensure that everything falls back in place. But this time all this too far y...

27) Successful Failure

They were playing for the nation, Selflessly, boldly & with grit and passion, Lost they though to another team above par, Lost the game they did but won many hearts. A difficult exam it was, important for her, Lots of struggle in its preparation she endured, Yet she failed, her efforts as if in vain, A year of hard work she faced yet again. They had a mountain to climb, a challenging task, Trying to meet a deadline at a working pace fast, Yet they could not, having done their best, Their patience, efforts & sincerity would be put to test. So many such moments we come across in life, Fail we despite having endured strifes, At times though we may end up down and crushed, We need to get up and start afresh. Because failure is not the stage where we halt, It is the time when we pause & analyze our faults, So that when we renew our efforts & our tries, We ensure that this time we are a step closer to the prize. Success afte...

26) The Unexpected Visitor

It was a regular summer afternoon, dull & dreary, Generally the mood around was tired & weary, When suddenly the sun disappeared from the sky, And black clouds from end to end began to glide.     To everyone’s surprise for it was Feb end, The rain Gods seemed to be setting a strange trend, For without any kind of warning nuzzle, There began a gentle incessant drizzle. Soaked in were the unwary by the sudden shower, While ominously the black clouds continued to tower, A flash of lightning, a lone thunder growl, Amazed further the bemused souls. Me in the meanwhile having been drenched too, From my window now soaked in the mesmerizing view, Saw the beauty, experienced the rains, Felt the atmosphere with all my senses. The glowing sky, the glistening trees, The birds in them looking ill at ease, The fragrance of wet soil overpowering my mind, The weather was of a hypnotic kind. The crisp cool air so fresh to breathe, W...

25) Moving On..

The sea waves gently sweep over my feet, At one end the water and the sky meet, Into the sea the sun goes for his daily dip, And from behind the clouds the glowing moon peeps. Slowly as increases the tide, The ghost of yesterday walks beside, Hand-in-hand along it walks, About my bygone past we talk. Some lovely moments or fights with dears, Good or bad memories flooding my eyes with tears, Triumphs and disasters both had a place, Gone for the moment but left behind a trace. Achievements which made me and my family proud, Regrets being personal buried under a shroud, Exhilarating moments when dreams came true, And bouts of realization with lessons learnt new. People came and left but life moved on, In vain each time the heart was torn, Some strickening moments giving sleepless nights, With the heart and the brain engaged in a fight. Many moments of pleasure came at times, And went away leaving behind happy smiles, Gave small reliefs...

24) Doctor Nature

As the sun dips low into a haze, A gentle breeze blows & tickles my face, I relax my forlorn face into a smile, Forget all my troubles for a while. I slowly get out of my thoughts' trap, Let myself fall into the nature's lap, Its a pleasant weather with a chill in the air, My most favorite season winter is here. The pinkish sky & the almost set sun, Capture my attention on the horizon, Pretty chirpy birds are seen there too, Flying away to the tree tops few. A cold gust of wind blows into my face, With great joy, against the flow I race, It freshens me up and clears my mind, In the company of nature happiness I find. That's how nature in our lives plays a role, Offering solace to the forlorn and wounded souls, Every sight of nature on my wounds is a balm, And I return to life's battles rejuvenated and calm..
